On the captivating island of Syros, the “Lady of the Aegean”, where Cycladic culture coexists with medieval charm and neoclassical elegance, you often have the impression that time has stopped and you are back in the days of the Venetians and the pirates. This is why, when constructing a new building, one has a great responsibility: to be faithful to the tradition and the aristocratic aura that have characterized this unique architectural environment for centuries. This spacious and functional country house, built on a smooth hillside with an unlimited view of the sea, thanks to its natural building materials and its discreet colours seems to be a natural part of the serene landscape that surrounds it. PROLAT had the ideal solution for the exterior surfaces: quartz mosaic, a material that is known to exhibit an outstanding mechanical strength, does not require maintenance and is available in a rich variety of colours. PROLAT has contributed creatively to the interior of this impressive house as well, with an original and very practical Betocore table that has a concrete appearance and texture, but is very light and easy to move. Its minimalistic design and mild colour shades add a modern touch to the room and are particularly restful to the eye. The final result offers what we all desperately need both in our everyday life and when we are on holiday: class, comfort and peace.
